MISSISSAUGA, June 1, 2021 – The Riverwood Conservancy (TRC) is happy to announce the appointment of Sara Wilbur-Collins as its new Executive Director. Sara comes to TRC with over 20 years of conservation organization experience, most recently serving as the Executive Director of the Grand River Conservation Foundation.
A strategic leader who values collaboration with board members, volunteers, and staff, Sara has proven her ability to build relationships, reach philanthropic goals, and achieve long-term success. She comes to TRC at a time when Mississauga residents have increasingly turned to Riverwood as a place of solace amid the COVID-19 pandemic, and as the organization has expanded its reach through virtual programs to connect more people with nature.
“We are most excited to have Sara’s expertise and enthusiasm to further the development of our organization, and we’re looking forward to a successful future under her leadership,” said Carolyn Sherk, Chair of the Board of Directors at The Riverwood Conservancy.
“I’m looking forward to working with The Riverwood Conservancy’s staff, volunteers, members, donors, and supporters to preserve the beauty and ecological health of Riverwood, while continuing to connect our community with nature through our programs,” said Sara.
Sara will assume her role on June 14, 2021. The Riverwood Conservancy would like to thank Robin Haley-Gillin for stepping in to fill the role of Acting Executive Director in March 2021, and for all her contributions since then.
