UPDATE: To help slow the spread of COVID-19 and protect our volunteers, staff, and visitors, we have cancelled our Summer Volunteer Program. All other volunteer activities are also cancelled until further notice. Thank you for your understanding.
While we’re not in a position to open for our usual business just yet, we are looking ahead to this summer, and hoping that we’ll be able to get back to our essential conservation work – and we hope that work includes you!
Our Summer Volunteer Program is open to anyone looking to have fun outdoors, be part of a team, and meet new people. But the program is particularly helpful for Ontario high school students looking to complete their mandatory community service hours.
Volunteers in our Summer Program make a positive impact on the local environment by supporting our conservation and horticulture programs. You can take part in forest and wildlife monitoring, natural areas restoration, invasive species removal, gardening, and caring for fish and turtles.
Our Summer Volunteer Program runs through July and August. Volunteer shifts take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays.
NOTE: We’ll be processing applications for the Summer Volunteer Program now, but we’ll continue to monitor the circumstances around COVID-19 and make decisions on start dates and program viability based on public health guidelines.
