Join the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada for a four-night course designed to introduce you to observing the night sky. Acquire the skills to identify brighter stars and constellations, along with a foundational understanding of the celestial motion. Each session features an indoor presentation led by an astronomer, followed by an outdoor exploration of the night sky using binoculars and telescopes.
March 5 | Introduction to Astronomy: Star Charts, Planispheres, and Observing Tools
March 19 | Exploring Space: Satellites, Eclipses, and Observing the Sun and Moon
March 26 | Discovering the Solar System: Planets, Stars, and Celestial Objects
April 2 | Advanced Astronomy: Equipment, Deep Sky Objects, and Light Pollution Solutions
The outdoor viewing portion is dependent on conditions. The session will not be postponed if conditions are not ideal for stargazing.
