Membership with The Riverwood Conservancy

Members make great things possible at Riverwood

When you become a member of The Riverwood Conservancy, you’re showing that you care about nature and your community.

As a member, you’ll be directly supporting our work to preserve Riverwood’s ecological health and natural beauty, while also supporting our education, gardening, and volunteer programs that matter so much to our community.

As of 2026, our membership structure changed to better connect membership and governance with charitable giving.

Frequently asked questions about our membership program

Why does The Riverwood Conservancy have a donor-member hybrid model?

We know that both members and donors care deeply about the work that we do for nature and the community. With that in mind, our hybrid membership model helps bring members and donors together to give more of our supporters the chance to vote on governance matters at our Annual Members’ Meeting, deepening their connections to our vital work.

How long does a membership last?

In the case of our Standard Membership levels (Youth, Senior Adult, or Family), your membership will be valid for one year from the date you sign up. You’ll also have the option to auto-renew your membership when you sign up.

For Charitable Member levels (Seedling Donor, Sapling Donor, Gardeners’ Circle Donor), your membership will remain valid as long as you have made the minimum donation for a specific donor level in the past 365 days from any given date.

What do I have to do get a Standard Membership (Youth, Senior Adult, or Family)?

You can sign up for any Standard Membership level here.

What do I have to do to get a Charitable Membership?

When you make a donation of $200 or more, you will be given Charitable Member status. The Charitable Member level you hold will be based on the amount of your donation.

Every day, our database looks back at your last 365 days of giving and ensures you maintain Charitable Member status as long as you have donated the minimum required amount for one of our Charitable Membership levels in the span of those 365 days.

If you have donated a collective total of $50,000 or more to The Riverwood Conservancy over the course of your lifetime, you will be given a Philanthropic Lifetime Membership which will remain valid for the rest of your life.

Can I be both a Standard Member and a Charitable Member at the same time?

Yes! If you sign up for a Standard Membership and also donate $200 or more, you will hold both Standard and a Charitable Member statuses.
