Year of the Garden: Gardening 101 Course

New to gardening? This is the course for you! During this 3-session course, we’ll explore topics of garden design, maintenance, pollinators, pests, and more. Riverwood’s diverse gardens allow us to learn in the landscape so you can feel confident in caring for your garden with this hands-on learning opportunity. This program will be half indoors and half outdoors in the gardens, on Monday evenings. Join in the joy of gardening!

Important Information

Please dress for the weather and wear comfortable clothing and shoes for gardening. No dogs permitted.

Difficulty Rating

Easy. This program will run out of Chappell House and in the garden beds. You are welcome to engage with the activities to whatever extent you would like.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds may only be processed if a registration is cancelled five or more business days before event day. Advanced cancellations are subject to administrative fees. No refunds will be given for no-shows. For programs where the fee is $19.99 or less, no refunds will be issued due to processing fees. If the program is cancelled due to weather, illness, or minimum participants not registered, we will attempt to reschedule, or a full refund will be issued based on the circumstances of the cancellation.

About the Presenter

Taya Kehler combined her passions for horticulture and design while completing her degree in Landscape Architecture at Dalhousie University. Her goal is to enhance gardens with eco-friendly practices and year-round interest to encourage pollinators and welcome visitors to Riverwood.
