Winter is a great season to visit the open waters of Lake Ontario to view and appreciate the migratory waterfowl displaying extravagant plumage! Many of the birds seen during this program are species you can’t find in the forests of Riverwood. All levels and ages of birders are invited for this program.

Dress for the weather. This is a rain, snow, or shine event unless severe weather is in the forecast. The lakefront often has colder, windier conditions than what is forecasted. Consider bringing good winter boots, crampons/boot spikes, or a walking stick.

No dogs permitted, service dogs welcome.

Difficulty Rating

Easy. This program will involve a slow-paced walk on the flat trails at Lakefront Promenade Park. Depending on conditions, the trails may become icy or snow-covered.

If the program is cancelled due to weather, illness, or minimum participants not registered, we will attempt to reschedule, or a full refund will be issued based on the circumstances of the cancellation.
