Spring Birding

As the signs of spring begin to bloom, so do the songs of our feathered friends. Join us for a morning of birding and learn how to identify a variety of species by their unique mating calls and striking spring plumage. Our birding group welcomes enthusiasts of all experience levels, from beginners to seasoned experts. Come discover the joy of birding with us!

Important Information

Binoculars are available to borrow for the duration of this program. A bird checklist and map will be provided to newcomers to the program.

Dress for the weather. This is a rain or shine event, unless severe weather is in the forecast. We recommend wearing all-weather shoes, or bringing a walking stick.

No dogs permitted, service animals welcome.

Difficulty Rating

Moderate. This program involves the steep hills on the trails, some uneven terrain, and greater than one kilometre of travelling at a slow pace.

Cancellations and Refunds

Refunds may only be processed if a registration is cancelled five or more business days before event day. Cancellations are subject to administrative fees. No refunds will be given for no-shows. For programs that have a registration fee of $19.99 per person or less, no refunds will be issued due to processing fees. If the program is cancelled due to weather, illness, or minimum registrations not reached, we will attempt to reschedule, or a full refund will be issued based on the circumstances of the cancellation.

About the Presenter

Stephanie Keeler is an experienced environmental educator and enthusiast. She completed her degree in Biology and Geography at the University of Guelph, and has spent several years submersing herself in Ontario’s biodiversity in the forests of Algonquin Park. She is now Community Program Coordinator at The Riverwood Conservancy, connecting city communities with urban nature.
