This mini-retreat is for any self-identifying woman eager to prioritize self-care by learning practices outdoors that can help her connect with her own true nature. After a brief speaker overview on the Chappell Lawn about the challenges that are often uniquely encountered by women, the group will get to one another by sharing a little bit in open discussion. Then, we will explore some trails together and engage in grounding exercises, empathy walks, and a reflection guided by the forest. Come join us and learn how to be well with a little help from trees and water!

About the Presenter
Kayla Sousa earned her Master’s in Counselling from the University of Toronto in 2015 while training in a crisis centre. Upon graduating, she worked under the direction of two Registered Psychologists in the psychometric field where she had a wonderful opportunity to travel all over the GTA supporting individuals coping with a range of mental health challenges and seeking treatment. She later began counselling youth in career settings, and now works at a start-up incubator where she supports start-up founders in Mississauga as they try to make their big dreams come to fruition—often while juggling other work commitments, caregiving duties, and many other responsibilities. In her spare time, Kayla loves to read, explore trails, and facilitate wellness-related conversations that relate to nature, which she believes in many ways to be the ultimate healer
