Don’t be afraid of the dark, the nocturnal creatures sure aren’t! Come explore nature at night and learn about your nocturnal neighbours, including the sights and sounds you may not normally experience in the daytime. This program will culminate at our moth sheet to view a diverse variety of flying insects.
Important Information
Flashlights will not be provided during the program but you’re welcome to bring your own; we may request that you turn them off at certain points. To ensure the safety and comfort of all participants, please refrain from wearing a headlamp.
Dress for the weather. This is a rain or shine event, unless severe weather is in the forecast.
This program is suitable for all ages.
No dogs permitted, service animals welcome.
Difficulty Rating
Difficult. This program will involve steep hills, uneven pathways, and travelling in a dark forest.
Cancellations and Refunds
Due to processing fees, no refunds will be given for cancelled registrations for this event. No refunds will be given for no-shows. If the event is cancelled due to weather, illness, or minimum registrations not reached, we will attempt to reschedule, or a full refund will be issued based on the circumstances of the cancellation.
About the Presenter
Stephanie Keeler is an experienced environmental educator and enthusiast. She completed her degree in Biology and Geography at the University of Guelph, and has spent several years submersing herself in Ontario’s biodiversity in the forests of Algonquin Park. She is now Community Program Coordinator at The Riverwood Conservancy, connecting city communities with urban nature.
