Astronomy Night

Explore the universe with members of the Royal Astronomical Society of Canada. Telescopes will be set up to provide stellar views of the Moon, the planets and more. Astronomy Nights fill up fast, be sure to register to save your place for space!

Important Information

This program is suitable for all ages.

Road access to Chappell Lawn will be closed. Please park in the main parking lot and walk over using Riverwood Park Lane. You will be asked your name at the barrier in order to enter the event.

It is recommended to bring a flashlight to walk to and from the program, approximately 300 metres from the Main Parking Lot. Please turn off flashlights when arriving to Chappell Lawn where the program is taking place, and refrain from flash photography.

If weather conditions are not ideal for star gazing, we will cancel the event at 12:00 pm on event day, and postpone the event to the next day, Wednesday, April 9. Please watch your email for updates in this circumstance. If you do not receive an email, please check your junk/spam folders.

No dogs permitted, service animals welcome.

Difficulty

Easy. The program will take place on Chappell Lawn, with accessible parking available. To access this parking, please inform staff or volunteers at the barrier on Riverwood Park Lane (see map attached). Please note, Chappell Lawn has some small divots and uneven surfaces that may be hard to see in low light.

Cancellations and Refunds

Due to processing fees, no refunds will be given for cancelled registrations for this event. No refunds will be given for no-shows. By purchasing tickets, you acknowledge that the program may take place on either the Tuesday or Wednesday date dependent on conditions; no refunds will be issued if you are unable to attend on either of these dates. In the event of a complete cancellation due to weather, attendees will have the option to: A) receive a full refund of fees paid; B) transfer their ticket to the next month’s event or C) generously donate their fees to support future programming by RASC and TRC.
