After Class @ Riverwood gives secondary school students (Grades 9-12) the chance to connect with nature after their day in school, with events modelled off our LEADS (Leadership in Environmental Achievements through Diversity and Skills) program.
Students can build towards their 40 hour volunteer requirement by helping Riverwood’s ecosystems. Map and remove invasive species, assist with creek cleanups, and collect data on animal and plant populations.
After Class @ Riverwood programs are outdoors, contactless, and follow social distancing rules. Masks required to accommodate safe travel on public trails. Events happen rain or shine, but will be cancelled in the event of thunderstorms or high winds (50 km/hr or above). Due to COVID-19 restrictions, each event will have a maximum of eight participants.
